The Ministry of Power and Energy has taken measures to streamline the issuance of fuel for vehicles under the QR code program introduced to prevent the issuance of fuel beyond the prescribed limit by the gas stations.
The regularization program is to begin by regulating the filling stations owned by both the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Indian Oil Company (LIOC).
It is reported that the ministry has received information about filling stations that have issued fuel to vehicles outside of the QR code, and has been warned in writing in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Power and Energy has been able to meet the fuel requirements for the livelihood of farmers and fishermen in all districts to ensure food security in the country.
