It is reported that the cause of the power outage across the island is due to a breakdown in the transmission line from Kotmale to Biyagama.
Today (09) at around 5 pm, the electricity was cut off all over the island.
The Ceylon Electricity Board further states that it will take at least two hours to restore power supply across the island.
However, the Ceylon Electricity Board further states that electricity supply has been restored in several areas of the island.
