The officer in charge of the airport confirmed that a Sri Lankan flight which departed from Katunayake Airport to Madurai, India this afternoon (28), was forced to land again at Katunayake Airport 5 minutes after take off due to a technical fault in the plane.
This aircraft is an Airbus-321 Neo type aircraft manufactured in France and 41 passengers and 08 staff have traveled in this aircraft.
This flight departed from Katunayake Airport to Madurai at 02.02 pm, and after taking off for 05 minutes, the flight landed again at Katunayake Airport at 02.07 pm.
He also said that the passengers and the crew are being accommodated in the aircraft and the aircraft is being repaired. The airport has not announced the exact time the flight will take off again to Madurai, India.
