According to the advice of the Nuwara Eliya Senior Superintendent of Police Buddhi Udugamasuriya, this emergency inspection was carried out with the permission of the Nuwara Eliya Zonal Director of Education and the principals of the main schools in Kotagala town and with the support of the Kotagala Trade Association.
The teachers and police officers of that school checked the school bags of the children coming to the school, and some of the school children had brought some types of medicines used for various diseases. After confirming that they are being used, the medicines were handed over to the respective students.
The police informed all the students who came to the schools about the consequences of using drugs, and the police officers informed the school children that if they have any information about the traffickers selling drugs targeting the school children around the school, to report the information to the police or the principal. has.
Some school children had money between 20000 to 75000 rupees in their bags, and the police officers have accepted the money and handed it over to the principal of that school.
