Strengthen security - a letter to the President

Mr. Nimal G. Punchihewa, Chairman of the Election Commission, has sent a special letter to President Ranil Wickramasinghe.

The Chairman of the Election Commission had sent such a letter to the President yesterday asking him to strengthen their security due to death threats to the members of his commission.

Also, the Chairman of the Election Commission stated that the support from some institutions for the local government election was slow and the President was informed through this letter.
